As your personal stylist, I recommend the Italian approach to dressing

Questioning Italy's role in fashion is as pointless as doubting the French in the kitchen. Italian designers aren't only seen as the finest creators of new trends — they've long been the undisputed masters. If you want to look effortlessly polished and ready for any occasion, Italian style is for you.

It's no surprise that Milan Fashion Week draws so many of the world's most successful and celebrated people — the ones we admire, and the ones we quietly try to emulate. Italian style is easy and clean in its lines, yet full of intrigue, carried by the details.

Choosing Italian women's fashion means putting relevance and comfort first. Moderation and ease are everything. No Italian would wear a loud, garish blouse to work — instead, the choice is a refined blouse in a understated tone.

For everyday, I favour natural fabrics and soft, muted tones

In Italian clothing I always lean toward pieces made from natural materials. The palette centres on white, black, grey, beige and blue. Where the runways celebrate bold colour, everyday dressing calls for softer, more restrained shades. Taken together, these are the qualities that define Italian women's fashion:

Sensuality

When I put an outfit together, I make sure it brings out your best — highlighting the beauty of elegant, feminine lines as effortlessly and as flatteringly as possible.

Soft Italian fabrics

These pieces are a pleasure to wear — think Italian shirts or Hanita tunics — and the fabrics flatter the figure beautifully.

Refinement

Every outfit is considered. Italians draw a clear line between daywear and eveningwear, so a woman looks right in either — think Diego M coats, Hanita blouses and dresses.

Understated colour

Italian fashion is quietly conservative: the designer pieces you buy now won't lose their relevance. Made to the highest standards from quality materials, they lean on classic black — endlessly combinable — alongside soft pastels.

Chic meets simplicity

It seems these two shouldn't belong in the same outfit — yet Italians prove otherwise. A simple coat or waistcoat paired with the right, elevated accessories can work wonders. As a stylist, I always finish a look with the accessories that complete it.

Ease and comfort

I always design with the practical side in mind. It's no accident that the great designers rarely reach for excess or punishing heels — and Italian footwear is among the most comfortable there is.

No vulgarity, no pretence

An open back, a hint of décolleté or a high slit can each be beautiful — but never all at once. That rule holds for day and evening alike, which is why I use sequins and rhinestones only sparingly.

Purpose in every detail

A garment should be thoughtful, with every element earning its place. Italians believe there's no need for decorative buttons, zips, beads or buckles that serve no real function.
